notes from October.

It's been busy lately. We've settled in to our schedules at Fisherwick...prayer meetings, Mums & Tots, the Net, Wednesday Club, Discipleship Course, student lunches, Bible study, Youth Club. We've had lunch with Susan Montgomery and the Little's this month, as well as an over-crowded family lunch at church and a fry with Derek and Rosemary. It's getting colder and is as wet as usual. Our garden is overgrown and after a miserable trek to Asda one particularly rainy Saturday, our grocery adventures are getting more challenging. We've been together for 2 years on the 21st and are eagerly anticipating a 1st anniversary trip to Dublin in just a few days :)  Some photos from the month:

Northern Ireland's under 19 vs. Belarus.
John Vanderslice at Katy Daly's.
 Cooking when I can :) Nathan's chili & scones.

Mom sent some peach preserves in an amazing fall package.
Another Saturday at St. George's. Matt and Britt making meat counter decisions.
 Lili with the cheese.
My pumpkin! It's time to bake pumpkin goods so I will take what I can get.

Snapshot.

The tiny garden from our window. There's a new yellow rose and new blue hydrangeas.

The internet's not reliable at home. But when it chooses to appear, this is my favorite spot.

Fall is here.

Chinese.

New friends Kate & Lucas invited us to Lucas' College Gardens flat for homemade Chinese. There were so many courses! It was fun {and a little nerve-wracking} to try some new things.

Little fishy stuffed with green onions, garlic, ginger.
Kate working on her "Szechuan" potatoes. I had asked her the difference between Szechuan and Cantonese food. She said Szechuan was always spicy, so made Szechuan potatoes - chili and red pepper spiced chips :)
Lotus root - crunchy, odd, interesting.

Tomato and egg soup.
Lucas and Kate.  Lucas learned to cook online and with his mom's help about a month ago..before moving to Belfast. Amazing!

Taro root.

Little fishy all done.

Pork and potatoes with ginger.

The bacon and cabbage.

All of the dishes...the fish, bacon & cabbage, fried rice, ginger pork and potatoes, taro root, dumplings, szechuan potatoes, lotus root.
