Irene & Belfast

Hurricane Irene kept us in New Jersey for a few more days than we would have liked.  The transit system shut down, so we lived in Rahway until we could finally fly out to Belfast via Glasgow on Tuesday evening (rather than Sunday, as originally planned).  We watched an entire season of Mad Men and were thankful for Dunkin' Donuts.

Finally, we landed in Belfast around noon on Wednesday, August 31. Ashleigh (Fisherwick's youth worker) picked us up and took us to our new home.  Bleary-eyed and exhausted, we met Britt (one of our housemates) and went to lunch at Yum on Stranmillis.  We didn't make it through the afternoon without a nap, but managed to get unpacked and settled a bit.  Of course, as food pictures are so important, below is our first breakfast at home in Belfast on September 1.
