Fresh spinach, sliced strawberries, slivered almonds cooked in sugar until crunchy/crystalized, creamy poppyseed dressing.  This {served with deviled eggs} is our favorite this summer.

Welcome, summer!

jasper, AR

We met the Mashburns near Jasper, AR in their cabin along the Buffalo River.  We meant to float the river, but flood conditions made that impossible.  So, we visited Mystic Caverns instead, and enjoyed a late lunch at the Cliff House Inn.  The view was beautiful.

Matt got us tickets to the Beale St. Music Festival for my birthday!

As usual, good food and good music make a good weekend.

First stop, Cotham's Mercantile in Scott, AR.  It was in a swamp and the building looked as if it would fall over at any second.  Good food, good experience.
